I grew up in the deep South, spending most of my childhood in Slidell, Louisiana, then my college years and early married life in central Mississippi. Though I was raised in a Christian home, it wasn’t until my junior year in college that I truly began a personal and sincere pursuit of faith in Christ. I served in church ministry for almost nine years, during which time I studied at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi and met my wife Cristy. From 2007 until 2011 we lived as missionaries in Russia.
My interests are wide and varied, but I try to keep them narrowed down as much as possible. All of my life I’ve enjoyed music. I play guitar and compose some. I enjoy outdoorsy things like hiking and running. I’m a card-carrying coffee snob and love good food (which is why I run). And though I’m not particularly good at math, I love science, sci-fi, computers, gadgets, techie things, etc. Yeah, basically I’m a geek.
We currently reside in Gresham, Oregon with our three children, Isaiah, Nadia and Lily. I serve as communications director for InterAct Ministries. We are members of a wonderful Christian community, Gresham Bible Church.
